Durable Japanese Steel
This saw is made from high-quality Japanese steel, maintaining long-lasting sharpness and providing clean and precise cuts in both soft and hard wood.
Made in Japan
Handcrafted in a historic Japanese town by skilled artisans with over 100 years of experience in making hand saws. These saws reflect the heritage of honest craftsmanship, history, and quality. They are renowned worldwide for their perfection and incredibly sharp teeth.
Premium Components
Features a dark brown handle made from solid Wingnut wood - a type of walnut. Brass components. A high-quality blade made of high-carbon steel complements the stylish dark wooden handle with Western-style brass accents.
Double-Edged Pull Saw
Double-edged blade for both rip and crosscutting medium to large pieces of material. Ideal for deep cuts in wood. The teeth on the blade are partially hardened.
Nokogiri 鋸
These are special Japanese saws widely used throughout Southern and Eastern Asia. Unlike European saws, which cut on the push stroke, nokogiri are designed for pull cutting. This design offers greater cutting precision and requires less effort from the craftsman. Because the blade does not bend when pulled, it produces a straighter cut compared to push-style saws.
Ryoba
A double-edged saw with two cutting edges – yokobiki for crosscutting across the grain and tatebiki for rip cutting along the wood grain. Suitable for carpentry and woodworking.
Why Choose a Pull Saw?
Japanese saws, unlike European ones, are designed for pull cutting. This cutting method requires less effort and allows you to make precise, clean, and accurate cuts. The iconic narrow and flexible blade of Japanese saws does not twist during pull motion, ensuring a perfectly straight cut. Most Japanese hand saws have a higher blade profile and a high density of teeth. An ideal tool not only for detailing your projects.
